If you are looking for a summer destination to have a good time and turn the page of the past few months, we can only recommend our wonderful region. Périgord is a compendium of history with a capital H, breathtaking landscapes, exceptional heritage sites, quality local products (in addition to the products of the Domaine, in Périgord there are also truffles , strawberries, caviar, walnuts, mushrooms, etc.) and exotic family experiences. It’s not for nothing that the Kuster family set their sights on it more than 40 years ago!
Because we want you to be able to enjoy the best of our region, we give you some of our favorites “less than an hour” from the Domaine:
> The Vézère Valley and its prehistoric heritage listed by UNESCO (to admire or visit, in particular Lascaux IV, the Roque Saint-Christophe and the Maison Forte de Reignac).
> The canoe descent along the Dordogne, to admire our villages of character and their castles (Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Les Milandes), and then gain height to admire the cingles of Trémolat and Limeuil
> The Marqueyssac gardens at night by candlelight, a marvel.
> The medieval city of Sarlat and its concentration of listed heritage sites, a feast for the eyes!
> The Pays des Bastides (where we are) with its new towns from the Middle Ages that witnessed the Hundred Years War (we particularly recommend Cadouin, Belvès and Monpazier).
> Family attractions not to be missed such as the Village du Bournat, Préhistoparc, the Château de Bridoire…
> And don’t hesitate to visit our Bergeracois winegrower friends. Call us for our best addresses!
There are still many, but we leave you a few surprises. You will understand, there is something for all tastes and for all desires and if you do not believe us, come and check it out for yourself! In the meantime, we can’t help but relay this video from the Department which gives you an overview of our most beautiful local riches:
